Both Rich and I (Debbie) have a long family history in Santa Clara Valley.

After living in Los Gatos for 20 years we decided to return to our roots in Morgan Hill and Hollister. We bought 5 acres of rich soil on Watsonville Rd and planted our vines. The beginning of our new journey of wine making and wine tasting. We love being a family run business and even hope to get our grandkids involved at some point.

My father was born and raised in Morgan Hill. My grandfather was a farmer and ranch hand and my great cousin, William Breton Sawyer, was a successful business man in town. I've been told, but have yet to find, a street that was named after him.

Riche's family immigrated from Portugal and Italy where they too fell in love with the beauty and rich soil of the Valley. They were farmers, ranchers, large land owners, and some real life cowboys thrown in for good measure. Riches grandfather was one of the many horse trainers and handlers for Seabiscuit. His uncles were Hollister CHP's and one went on to become the mayor of Hollister.

With Rich's successful career at So Bay Construction (winding down) and my many years in the design field, we're combining our resources, and feel we've created a very special place here at Horse Thief Vinyard. We hope you enjoy are wonderful wines and a cozy, and comfortable space to drink them.

Cant wait to see You All!
